We are excited to announce plans for Vacation Bible School 2013 at Kingston Springs United Methodist Church.
The congregation of KSUMC will be involved in Vacation Bible School because it will be on five Sundays June 30 to July 28, and it will include worship time each week.
Crazy? Maybe, but we want to reach our children, our congregation and our community in a significant way with this year’s VBS.
Here is how it will work…
Worship
Each of the five Sunday’s schedules will be changed. There will be one worship service beginning at 9:30 a.m. The worship service will be family-friendly with special music and VBS Assembly time with video. It also will still be worship with prayers of the people, communion, and an appropriate message by the pastor.
Lunch
After worship, there will be a “very light” lunch buffet in the kitchen where people will pick up food and go to their classes.
Adult Sunday School and Children’s VBS
After picking up lunch, adult classes will meet for one hour after worship. We will have a third class for adults who are not in one of the current classes. This will accommodate members of the community who may come to bring their children. The children will go to their appropriate VBS class during this time and their VBS experience will extend into the afternoon. Children’s dismissal time to be announced.
