Adult Choir
The Adult Choir rehearses and performs during the school year. Rehearsals times are usually on Wednesday's from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.
During the summer months, special music is provided by solos, duets, quartets, etc. for the worship services.
The Adult Choir sings a variety of styles, with a variety of instrumental accompaniment. The styles range from classical to modern, often accompanied by guitar and drums, or flute, or a trio of trumpets. The Music Director tries to make use of the range of talents from the members as well as from the community.
Once or twice a year, the Adult Choir prepares a special program. Most often, these special programs are at
Christmas and Easter.
Hand Bell Choir
The KSUMC Hand Bell Choir is made up of different groups. All who have an interest in playing hand bells are given the opportunity to learn to play sometime throughout the year. Once a group has been selected, that group rehearses about 4-5 times before they play for a Sunday morning worship service. Usually, once a year, a “beginner” group performs, an “experienced” group performs. An “advanced” group performs 2 or 3 times each year.
The hand bell choirs are open to all age groups, from Kindergarten to Senior Adults.
In addition to the hand bell choir, the Music Director also prepares
solos, duets, trios, and quartets for those who are interested.
Youth Choir
There is no regular rehearsal for a youth choir. However, when the opportunity arises, a youth choir is formed to meet the occasion.
The youth are encouraged to participate with the Adult Choir.
Children’s Choir
There is no regular rehearsal for a children’s choir at this time.
However, plans are being made to start one. Children are gathered from
time to time to learn a song for the worship service. The children
presented “Christmas from Scratch”, a children’s Christmas musical,
December 2006.
